In an America Online Instant Messenger conversation Monday, Sam Mattis responded to Jay Schwab's query of "wats up? [sic]" with "not much," before proceeding to ask Schwab, "You?" Further online communication revealed that little was up for Schwab as well. At a later point new facts came to light: while Schwab wished to see "Monsters vs. Aliens 3D" on Friday or Saturday, Mattis was under the impression that the film was made for small children. Yet the two found common ground on not knowing which math problems had to be completed for Tuesday and on finding their math teacher, Mrs. Hunt, "sooooo booooorinnng." After a long measure of silence, Schwab promised he would be right back which lead Mattis to state his commitment to talking to his friend later.
